Fight against These Educated Killers

This is a shocking incident that happened in my life and because of the carelessness of a doctor, I loosed my daughter. Here I would like to discuss with you this nightmare happened in my life on November 29th 2009. Imanae, my three year old daughter poured hot water on her hand. When I saw this, I and my wife immediately took her to the Hospital and Medical Center, which is located in the Johar Town (Lahore). Even though it was just a minor burn, I and my wife decided to take my kid to hospital as she was crying with great pain.

At the hospital we were not able to find a doctor and we met a staff of the emergency ward. The staff started the first aid treatment by applying ointment of Imanae’s wrist and gave her an injection that will numb the pain. Even after the injection Imanae was continued crying and went and called the duty doctor. The doctor was asleep and had woken up just when the nurse called him. This doctor did not show any type of interest in doing proper treatment to my daughter and he just told the same nurse to give another injection. Even after the second shot, my daughter kept crying.

15 minutes later, the same doctor ordered the nurse to give one more injection for Imanae. In total, these murderers injected around 5mg anesthetic on my daughter’s body. After the third injection, I saw my baby silent and she began to lose her consciousness. Before she made a complete move, Imanae started called me said that everything was becoming blurry and she was not able to see anything clearly. But I did not come to know that these words she told me will be the last words that I will be able to hear from her mouth.

Finally, after some times a doctor told me that my daughter was having trouble while breathing. As the hospital did not have baby ventilator we were forced to carry our daughter to the Children’s hospital. As the situation was becoming worse, we asked the doctor to send a doctor or an ambulance with us. But, we did not get any type of facilities from this hospital. So, I decided to take my daughter in my car, but I was not able to reach the hospital own time. Because of the carelessness of this educated monsters, I lost my child, my life.……

It is not only me who is facing this type of problems with the hospitals and doctors. If you look around you or step into a near by hospital, you will be able to see many parents who are facing the same problems. However, I have decided to take the right steps and fight against these killers. If you are with me, you can also fight against them and save the life of many people.

Doctors Hospital killed my 3 Year Old Daughter

Word of Imanae' Father -
On November 29, 2009 at 3 am in the morning my 3 year old daughter, Imanae, spilt hot water on her wrist. My wife and I immediately took her to Doctors Hospital and Medical Center in Johar Town, Lahore. Although it was a very small burn, we chose to go to the hospital as our baby was in a lot of pain and we wanted her hurt to go away as quickly as possible.

At the hospital we were met by the emergency ward staff, who applied an ointment on her hand and gave her an injection to soothe the pain. When Imanae continued to cry because of the pain, the nurse called the doctor on duty. I noticed when he walked into the room that he had obviously been asleep and had just been woken up.

The doctor instructed the nurse to give Imanae another injection. Imanae however continued to cry. Fifteen minutes later, the sleepy doctor instructed the nurse to inject Imanae with the 3rd injection. All in all, 5mg of this anesthetic/pain killer was given. This was the moment when my little baby went silent and started losing consciousness. Just before she totally passed out, she started calling out my name and saying that everything was getting blurred and she couldn't see clearly. Little did I know that these were the last words my daughter would ever say.

I asked the doctor what was happening to my daughter, he assured me that she was FINE and was just SLEEPING, and left the room. I however wasn’t satisfied and checked Imanae myself to see if I could feel her breath or hear her heartbeat.

When I couldn't feel either of the two, I immediately informed the nurse. She called the doctor again who used a Heart Beat Monitor to examine Imanae. There was no reading on the monitor. I asked the doctor what that signified and he told me that since the monitor was intended for adult use, it could not detect my baby's hear beat. I WISH I HAD ASKED HIM THEN WHY HE WAS USING IT ON MY HELPLESS AND UNCONSCIOUS CHILD AND WASTING PRECIOUS TIME!!!

At this point, some other doctors present on duty at the hospital joined him as well. They connected Imanae to an ECG machine, but that too also only reported a straight line. My wife asked why the line was straight but the doctors did not reply. They kept on stating that she was fine and was just having some breathing problems. All the doctors present on the scene, started conferring between themselves as they continued to examine her. They continued to ignore our repeated pleas on what was happening to our daughter.

They then started giving her CPR and it was at this point I realised that my baby's life was in danger. The doctors however kept reassuring us that she was fine. They continued conferring between themselves and I was certain that something had gone horribly wrong. Another 20 or so minutes passed in this torture and confusion. They continued to reassure us that she was ok!! IF SHE WAS OK, WHY WAS THERE NO PULSE ON THE ECG...WHY WAS THERE NO HEARTBEAT...WHY WERE THEY GIVING HER CPR, IF SHE WAS OK.....WHY WHY!!!

Finally, one of the doctor told me that she was having difficulty breathing and because Doctors Hospital did NOT HAVE a baby Ventilator we should take her to some other hospital before her condition worsened. They suggested we take her either to Ittefaq hospital or to Fatima Memorial, or that we take her to Ward 23 of the Children's Hospital.

I asked them for an ambulance because she was connected to all kinds of machines, but they told me that the ambulance was not available. However, if we still wanted one...we would have to WAIT for half an hour!!! My baby was not breathing and they wanted me to wait for half an hour!!

I decided to take my dying Imanae in my own car and pleaded with them to give me a doctor to accompany us to Children's Hospital. I did not know what was wrong with her and wanted someone to come along and explain what exactly her condition was. I wanted a list of injections and other medicines given to her, to give to the doctors at Children's Hospital. I wanted a copy of her ECG report.....

Nothing was given......and a WARD boy asked to go along.

It took us 15 minutes to reach Children's Hospital.....where we were told that my 3 year old daughter...my only child...the light of my life...my reason for living...was DEAD!!

Apparently, I am not the only one who has had his life shattered by this hospital. There are several similar incidents where Doctors Hospital have dumped patients whose treatments they have botched, on to other hospitals.

One such incident that I came across was reported a few years ago in the Daily Times:

http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2006%5C02%5C12%5Cstory_12-2-2006_pg3_7

With your help, I have discovered several other cases that strongly indicate malpractice and gross negligence by this hospital.

If you are a victim of Doctors Hospital or know of someone who suffered at their hands, please let us know so that we can put it forward and bring the culprits to justice.

Stay AWAY from Doctor's Hospital, Johar Town, Lahore!!!

Hi Friends,

I am not from Pakistan and do not know to any other personally who lost her kids Imanae Malik.I am an internet researcher and social media specialist, I read this unbelievable and socking news on internet and on http://www.imanae.co.uk/I am totally shocked to read this news.
I cannot control myself to write some words on this blog.
Doctor's Hospital, Johar Town, Lahore is a Killer you can lose your kids, father, mother, wife, brother or someone you love if you goes there for treatment. Please stay away from this hospital.
This is not a first case only which happened there, they all untrained doctors and staff are just making money and making fool to public & patient. They are involve in wrong practices and killing to innocent people. We people think that Doctor is a God but “Doctors Hospital’s” Doctors are agent of Death.
They are killed to a little angel Imanae Malik who was 3 years old only. They inject harmful and heavy dose 3-5 injection her arms and she dead due to wrong injection only. Now they are unable to justify the uses of those injections.
WHY THEY ARE ALIVE! WHY THEY ARE STILL DOING HIS PRACTICE! WHY ARE THEY NOT UNDER THE CUSTUDY YET ?

Pakistan’s doctors who killed to Imanae Malik

What happened to Farooq Malik was not the first such case and unfortunately it will not be the last such case. The level of training of most physicians in Pakistan is extremely deficient. The training of the ancillary staff such as nurses is practically non-existent. Malpractice and medical abuse cases happen daily and routinely.
The death of Pakistani-American engineer Farooq Malik in a Lahore hospital where he had been practically dumped by the 5-star hospital where he had been first taken and given what turned out to be a lethal injection, has touched a lot of people, going by the number of messages I have received; having written about that tragedy in this space last Sunday.
One message from New York said, “Humanity has gone out of the new generation of Pakistani doctors. Contrast what Farooq Malik went through with what doctors used to do for their patients in the 1960s and 1970s. What has happened to our people? Will anybody take note of this moving story?” By anyone, I suppose, the correspondent meant “anyone in authority”, to which the answer to date is no.
Another, a doctor, wrote from Islamabad and said, “Doctors’ Hospital, Lahore (where Farooq was taken first) should have been able to deal with the problem. The rest is a story of post-operative mismanagement and greed.”
Another doctor, who lives in the United States, wrote, “I wish I could say it is hard to believe, but it is not hard to believe. Most of us have had bad experiences in Pakistani hospitals. I lost my brother and a sister-in-law due to lack of facilities at a Peshawar hospital. They died in my arms. When I talked to the medical superintendent a few days after the death of my brother, he said I was not sympathetic to their difficulties.”
Another doctor, also from the United States, wrote, “I think what happened to Farooq Malik was not the first such case and unfortunately it will not be the last such case. The level of training of most physicians in Pakistan is extremely deficient. The training of the ancillary staff such as nurses is practically non-existent. Malpractice and medical abuse cases happen daily and routinely. I would be surprised if there was any family in Pakistan that does not have some kind of malpractice case to report. However, the fact of the matter is that such medical malpractice in Pakistan can never come to an end until the people develop ethics. Government legislation and uproar in the media cannot fix this pervasive problem. Unethical behaviour is not limited to the medical profession in Pakistan only. Businesses in almost all facets of Pakistani society practice some type of fraud and underhand behaviour.
“Unless people develop the will to respect fellow human beings and a conscience that prevents them from causing hurt to others, there can be no end. It is a sad story and I hope that it does not happen again, but I fear that even as I type this email, some poor person in Pakistan is going through what Farooq Malik did.”
A lawyer from Pakistan wrote, “I have gone through this horror story and want to add something. When doctors make mistakes they bring mental torture and physical pain to the patients and their families. But when these mistakes are brushed aside, the distress deepens. Medical negligence is not something new, but it is not accountable in Pakistan. People accept pain and loss as something ordained, something that was bound to happen. Someone has to break the silence. At present, I am dealing with a number of medical negligence cases and interested to pursue Farooq’s case free of cost and expenses.”
A doctor from Lahore said he was saddened by what he had read but “unfortunately that is the reality of medical care in Pakistan. The first hospital where the patient was taken is also known as the ‘dakoo hospital’. As for the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, little can be said about it these days that is good. Recently when a radio station in Lahore started airing reports about all that was wrong at the Institute, the station was closed down and the owners arrested. The medical big shots in Pakistan are very well connected and do not care what people say about them.”
Another message addressed to Omer, Farooq’s son, said, “I have seen a lot of medical malpractice here in Pakistan. I wish things were different but I don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. Make no mistake, most of the doctors in Pakistan’s hospitals are like butchers in killing fields, I know this correlation sounds absurd but it is true. I know your father can never come back, but the way you have lost him makes me sick. I wish there was some law which could deal with these doctors and put them behind the bars for the rest of their lives.”
A Pakistani living in Sharjah was shocked at the deplorable circumstances under which Farooq passed away in Lahore. He wrote, “Like many of my compatriots, I too have suffered much pain through witnessing the almost criminal behaviour of some Pakistani hospitals, especially when my youngest brother was shot three times in the chest just outside my house in Karachi by robbers. With Allah’s help he survived but has his left arm fitted with steel rods that were expensive but perhaps not necessary. At 27 years of age, he is walking around with two bullets lodged in his chest and abdomen that the hospital in Karachi could not remove. My brother is a PhD candidate in computer science and is currently working in North Carolina. My brothers and I have decided to do something about this problem.
“We are approaching this problem from a different angle though. We believe that quality healthcare is a right of every human being and the service need not charge any fees from the patients. We have established a free clinic in a poor suburb of Karachi as our pilot programme and will be offering telephone triage services to the community 24 hours, seven days a week within a year. Since this service will be rendered by qualified doctors without any incentives such as commissions and profits, we expect that such a service will be useful to our people, especially those who are frequently misguided by profit-oriented hospitals.
“We plan to provide the telephone triage service to charitable hospitals that do not have the financial strength to address in a timely manner the needs of all who knock at their doors. I believe, Inshallah, our service will also fill this gap without duplicating the efforts of NGO-run hospitals. We plan to have this service available nationwide by the third quarter of 2007.”It is people like Arshad Syed from Sharjah, who sent me this note, not flint-hearted killer doctors motivated by greed, who are Pakistan’s hope. Men like Abdul Sattar Edhi, a living saint, have shown the way. Let others follow.
